I decided to call this album 25 Years of... because so many people (including some of my all time heroes when I was growing up listening to this music) said, incredibly kindly, that it’s a shame I wasn’t making tunes in 1996.

So I was going to call the album 25 Years Too Late!

But then I thought, it’s also 25 years of wanting to make hardcore music!

25 years of having all this music in my head and not knowing how to get it out of my head.

25 years of life - going from a kid listening to this amazing music to seeing my son start learning to mix and becoming an unbelievable scratcher.

25 years of always been on the periphery of the rave scene. I’ve always been quite shy, especially when I was younger so I never ended up going to many raves because I didn’t really know anyone who went. The people who went would ask me to jump
on the coach but I would always say no because I was a bit scared - how crazy is that, considering I was into the club scene. Crazy when I think back.

I started making happy hardcore when I wasn’t sure whether there was an audience. I had no idea whether or not people were still listening to hardcore. Happy Hardcore is starting to get a bit popular again but what I will say is, remember those who were always there - not just those who were there when there was a few quid in it and came back when it was popular again.
